What it is
A Go command line program from ProjectDiscovery, not the Python httpx client library of the same name. It takes hosts, URLs, or CIDR ranges and runs many probes against each one in parallel.
What it helps with
- Turning a subdomain list into a list of responsive web services
- Capturing status codes, titles, servers, TLS details, and detected technologies
- Taking page screenshots with a headless browser
- Passing clean results on to vulnerability scanners
Who it's for
Recon practitioners, bug bounty hunters, and red teams mapping web assets they are authorized to assess.
Worth knowing
It falls back from HTTPS to HTTP automatically and retries with backoff to cope with flaky targets. The project warns of breaking changes between releases and advises against running it as a service.
Where does it fit in a recon chain?
It usually takes Subfinder output as input and passes the live hosts it finds on to Nuclei.
What output formats does it support?
Plain text, JSON lines, and CSV.
