What it is
A Docker-based C2 platform with a web UI where operators share a single operation. Agents (payloads) are separate projects that speak Mythic's profile, so you can mix languages and platforms in one campaign.
What it helps with
- Coordinating multi-operator red team engagements
- Tracking tasks, callbacks, and loot in one UI
- Swapping payload types without changing the server
- Scripting operations through its API
Who it's for
Red teams and purple teams running adversary simulation on systems they own or are authorized to assess.
Worth knowing
Install expects Docker and Docker Compose, with helper scripts aimed at Ubuntu and Debian. Payload projects are versioned separately from the core server.
Is it only for Windows targets?
No, payloads exist for several platforms; the server itself runs on Linux via Docker.
How does it compare with Sliver or Caldera?
In our view Mythic is the collaborative multi-payload C2 choice, Sliver is a single Go implant framework, and Caldera focuses on automated adversary emulation.
